×Our Careers lead is Luke Talbot, Assistant Headteacher (ltalbot@sgs.uk.net, 01903814555 ext 289). A teaching Careers Adviser, Mrs Linsdell, organises Careers Education within Key Stage 4. In addition we have a non teaching member of staff, Mrs Pinhorn who is a qualified CIAG Level 6 Adviser who works alongside Mrs Linsdell.
All students, through their PSHE lessons, Project Based Learning and Assemblies, cover modules relating to Careers Education and related areas. Progression information will also be delivered through year teams and curriculum areas. There will be specific support in preparing for transitions from Key Stage 3 to 4 or from Key Stage 4 to 5.
Apprenticeship Providers, Colleges and Employers are invited into the school to given talks to Year 10 and 11 students about future career options. There is an experience day offered to year 10 students at the end of the year to get a taste of what it is like to study at Sixth Form and to find out more about the subjects on offer.
There is a Careers Room which the students have access to. This room has up-to-date information about a range of progression pathways.
Our careers staff will be pleased to help students with application writing or to give support with KS4 and KS5 choices. Students have access to individual guidance. This may take the form of a one to one interview, group discussion or meeting.
