The Governing Body consists of 16 Governors and a number of Associate Members and provides non-executive leadership for our school. It holds our Co-Heads to account and provides support and challenge in an effective way.
It meets regularly and is focused on its three core functions:
1. ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
2. holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the effective and efficient performance management of staff; and
3. overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.
It carries out these functions via its main body which delegates where needed to those among it with appropriate skill sets. Boarding has its own committee due to the specialised elements of boarding governance.
There are a number of key areas that support effective governance:
1. strategic Leadership;
5. compliance; and
Governors are volunteers and have a collective skill set that supports effective governance. They are accountable to OFSTED and at the last inspection they were judged to be ‘outstanding’.
The Governing Body regularly reflects on its performance and strives to lead the school with the child at the centre of all that they do. The child is front and centre in all decisions it makes. The Governors receive annual training on, inter alia, safeguarding, equality and diversity and NMS.
Below is a list of our current governors, a list of attendance at meetings for the last academic year of all governors who were in post through that year and also their pecuniary interests/declarations of interest.
