Our modern Sixth Form Centre provides an independent learning base and social area for Sixth Formers with students enjoying the exclusive use of the Russell Centre with Wi-Fi connectivity throughout. There are two independent study rooms; one of these has lap tops available for loan. There is also a common room and dining facility.
Year 12 have between eight and ten private study periods per week, which can be spent in the Russell Centre study rooms or the Learning Resource Centre.
With parental or Boarding House parent permission, students may leave the college site during their non-contact time. They can use the school sporting facilities, including badminton, table tennis, indoor football, fitness suite, squash courts, swimming pool or have off site driving lessons.
The Learning Resource Centre has a suite of computers which are networked giving access to 'e-learning' packages, the Internet and e-mail. Networked computers are also available in the Russell Centre Learning Hub and there is a wireless connection for school laptops.
We also offer students remote access to a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) allowing access the school's network, including its study packages.
This is an agreement for all concerned, students, parents or carers and the college, to ensure that the learning environment will be as good as it can be for our students to achieve their best.
