The options process for the current Year 8 is about to begin. Students will need to choose 4 subjects to study in Key Stage 4 in addition to the compulsory GCSEs of English, Maths and Science. Students also complete a short course GCSE in RE as well as PSHE and PE courses.
We are no longer able to offer the Extended Project Qualification. This is because of national changes in recent weeks. However, we will still be offering the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Year 10. This will be completed (by the students that choose it) as an alternative to some of their Core PE lessons. You do not need to opt for D of E on the options form because that choice is made at the end of year 9 to begin in Year 10. If your child was thinking of doing the Extended Project Qualification they will need to opt for something else instead.

Key dates to remember are:
January 8th 2019 6-6:30pm - KS4 Options Information Evening for parents and carers in the Shooting Field Drama Hall. Parents and Carers will be taken through the options process from start to finish. The presentation from this evening can be accessed below.
January 22nd 2019 6-7:30pm – Options Subjects Information Evening – Students and parents can walk around the school and talk to the teachers about the subjects. Students currently studying the subjects are also there to talk to.
February 24th 2019 – Deadline for the options choices to be completed. The link to fill out the options form is: Options Form
