Eligibility

The Pupil Premium Grant is additional funding to support students in years 7 – 11 from low income families. The funding is attracted by children registered for Free School Meals at any time during the last 6 years or who have been in care continuously for 6 months or longer.

If you receive any of the following support payment you may be entitled to receive free school meals:

  • Universal Credit with an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400
  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guarantee element of state Pension Credit
  • Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
  • Child Tax Credit (with no Working Tax Credit) with an annual income of no more than £16,190

16-19 Bursary Fund Eligibility

The Bursary Fund Scheme is made up of two parts:

  • Guaranteed Bursary – if you are in care, a care leaver or in receipt of Income Support or a disabled young person in receipt of both Employment Support Allowance and Disability Living Allowance you will be entitled to £1,200.  This will be paid to you by instalments.
  • Discretionary Bursary – if you do not qualify for the guaranteed bursary but have a household income under £25,000, you may be able to apply for some funds to support things like travel, meals whilst attending the course or course related equipment.

Information regarding this support is provided to students on entry to the Sixth Form College.
